Recaro receives “Airbus Best Performer” award
// Airbus recognizes outstanding and sustainable quality and excellent delivery performance of aircraft seat supplier
Schwaebisch Hall/Hamburg, Germany. Recaro Aircraft Seating has been awarded the Gold Award for "Best Performer" by Airbus. The aircraft manufacturer has honored the seat supplier for the commitment to the Airbus on-time and on-quality targets. The award was presented on the occasion of the annual Airbus Supply Chain and Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) Day in Hamburg on April 13, 2015.
"The Gold Award makes us proud as it honors our commitment to provide top quality and excellent delivery performance to our customers," says Dr. Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder of Recaro Aircraft Seating. "It also motivates us to continue our strive for excellence." Recaro Aircaft Seating has received the Gold Award as "Best Performer" for the sustainable high quality performance in 2014 at the Recaro locations in Germany, Poland and in China. „This award proves the high level of quality and delivery performance of our international production network," Mark Hiller adds.
In Hiller’s view, the Gold Award confirms the course that the company has taken over the past years: "Our mission is to be the best seat supplier from our customers’ perspective." For this reason, the company started an operations excellence initiative in 2007. This initiative has proved to be very successful. "With our shopfloor management system, we have established a special leadership philosophy that helps us to recognize problems early and to solve them on a permanent basis," says Mirjam Bruhns, Director Quality and Process Management at Recaro Aircraft Seating. "We have developed a culture that consistently improves leadership and communication: Thanks to the regular exchange of information within the company, we are able to recognize problems early, respond to deviations immediately, and implement solutions quickly."
