SAS modifies 5,000 units of the BL3520

SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany and STOCKHOLM. The airline Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) is modifying the economy class seats BL3520 from Recaro Aircraft Seating for some 40 aircraft of its fleet. The German aircraft seat manufacturer will supply the parts for SAS‘ modification project as early as fall 2017. Only a few months lie between order and delivery.
SAS has ordered modification kits for approximately 5,000 economy class seats of the model BL3520 from Recaro Aircraft Seating. The aircraft seats will be upgraded with USB power. SAS has already equipped its entire short-range fleet with Recaro seats.

The multiple award-winning aircraft seat BL3520 from Recaro has come to be a classic in the aviation industry and has been ordered in a six-figure volume since its market launch. The economy class seat is one of the most successful products in the portfolio of the German seat manufacturer from Schwaebisch Hall. It convinces with its combination of lightweight design, comfort and optimization of space. Additional modifications can be easily implemented in the BL3520, enabling a flexible customization to the customer’s needs.
